When looking for Individual and Family health insurance in Los Angeles, you have many options at you disposal.  Most of the major carriers are in the Los Angles market.  Such as Anthem Blue Cross, Blue Shieid of California, HealthNet of California, Pacificare, Kaiser, United HealthCare and several others.  So if you find yourself needing a plan for yourself or a family plan it’s always a good idea to talk to an agent who is familiar with the Los Angeles health insurance environment, so you  can discuss your unique needs.  Because your neighbor or a business associate has a certian individual policy, does not mean it will fit your situation.  Be very careful if you go online to shop for plans.  Each plan is a little different, some only offer generic drugs, or no maternity options, others cover only hospitalization and very little outpatient services such as outpatient surgery.  Also there are discount plans which are called limited benefit or mini-meds.  These types of plans usually cover a limited amount of your hospital stay, or surgery expense.  So again be very carefull before you apply for coverage.  An agent costs you no additional money, the insurance company pays the agent to assist applicants and members.

Anthem Blue Cross has many PPO, HMO and HSA plans for you to compare.  Blue Shield of California also a major Health Care provider in California has many competitive plans you should compare before deciding.  Just make sure the plan you choose fits your particular situation.  With the several hundred plans to choose from in Los Angeles, you can be assured there are most likely many that will take care of you and your family.
