Sacramento Medicare Supplement Plans & Rates … If you are turning 65, you may want to consider adding a Medicare supplement to your original Medicare coverage.

You may find that several health care services aren’t covered in your Medicare A or B plans.  Sacramento Medicare Supplement plans offer Medicare supplement plans A, C, D, F, High Deductible F, G & N to cover the additional benefits you may want.  Our variety of Medicare supplemental insurance plans gives you the option to choose what’s right to fit your needs.

With hospitals like; Sutter, UC Davis and Methodist in the Sacramento Metro area, you can choose which hospital, physician or specialist you would like to see.  You can also switch doctors at anytime.  Simply make an appointment and do, no referrals needed.

Use this chart to compare benefits among all the Medicare Supplement plan options.  You must meet the minimum age requirement of 65+ to be eligible.  If you are not yet age 65 but eligible for Medicare by reason of disability please call: 800-700-1246.

Sacramento Medicare Supplement plan rates may vary depending on where you live.  County and zip codes will determine your final monthly premium.  Also if you are new to Medicare Part B, you can receive a savings of $10 each month for the first 12 months on your Blue Shield of California Medicare Supplement plan rates.  Be sure to compare the company rates, or you can call me and I’ll tell you what the lowest rate in your area is.

Anthem Blue Cross, Gerber, Family Lifealong with Blue Shield of California offers a Two-Party discount.  If you and your spouse or domestic partner are age 65 or older, apply together, and are accepted in the same benefit plan type, you may be able to save on your combined monthly dues if coverage is issued under one agreement.

In California, if you are currently enrolled in a Medicare Supplement plan, you can switch to another company with a plan of equal or lesser value during an annual open-enrollment period called the “Birthday Rule.”  You can change companies every year on the month of your birthday … No health questions asked.  It’s guaranteed, and there are no waiting periods or waivers for pre-existing conditions.  So if another company offers better rates for the same plan, switch, it’s that easy.

If you are new to Medicare or currently have a Medicare Supplement plan be sure to compare other company rates, because there is quite a large range in price.  A particular company may have the lowest rates for a person age 65, but at 70 they could be uncompetitive.  So be sure to look around.

Also, regarding doctors and physicians.  The name of the company does not matter when determining if the doctor is part of the network.  There is actually no network you need to concern yourself with.  When checking physicians, specialists and hospitals, all you need to know is if they “accept Medicare.”  The company does not matter!  All claims from physicians and hospitals go directly to Medicare, not to the insurance company.  So with your current physicians, all you need to ask is, “do you accept Medicare.”  That’s it!
