2018 Example Rates:

To enroll in a Los Angeles Medicare Supplement plan, you will have three separate parts of coverage.

  1. First you will need both Medicare Part A and Medicare Bart B coverage.
  2. Second, is to enroll into a Los Angeles County Medicare Supplement (Medigap) plan of your choice.
  3. Third is a Medicare Part D Rx plan, from any of the companies providing Part D coverage in Los Angeles county.

Which Plan is Right?  What Medicare Supplement plan is best for your

needs?  Plans F, G, N and D are the most popular, simply because of how comprehensive they are.  Which benefit outline fits the best and will the monthly premiums fit within your budget?  Each plan covers a different amount of the Medicare Parts A and B deductibles, copays and percentages which you are responsible for when on Original Medicare.

Plan F covers all deductibles and out of pocket costs when you are admitted to a hospital or seek outpatient services.  Plan G is identical to Plan F except with G you will be responsible for the Medicare Part B annual deductible of $147.  Plan N also very popular works a little different; N has an office visit co-pay of $20 whenever you go to the doctor.  You are also responsible for the Medicare B deductible of $147 along with Excess Charges.

Medicare Part D Rx …  These plans usually cost in the range of $15 to $40 per month.  This is a “rule of thumb.”  Most Part D members can find the best plan for their medication list within this premium range.  Of course if you have some specialty drugs the premiums may be inflated depending on your medications.  The best place to compare Los Angeles Part D plans is on the www.Medicare.gov website.  The site allows you to view all the plans and rates in Los Angeles County.

The Medicare website is a bit tricky, so if you need a little help, please feel free to call anytime and I’ll help you find the best plan for your medication list.
