The popular Blue Cross Medicare Supplement insurance plans which are available in most states are some of the most popular Medigap plan nationally.  The Blue Cross Medicare Supplement plans work closely with Original Medicare to cover most if not all of the; Part A, Part B and the 20% part B coinsurance original Medicare does not cover.blue-cross-medicare-supplement

The Medicare program provides health care coverage for seniors over the age of 65 and disabled individuals.  Since the program was implemented in 1966, the number of Medicare beneficiaries (members) has increased from 19 million to 40 million.  By 2030, Medicare is projected to cover more than 77 million people.  Despite the dramatic growth in the program and continuing advances in medical technology, the Medicare benefit package has changed very little in the past 35 years.

A recent survey of Medicare beneficiaries with Medicare Supplement coverage finds that the vast majority of Medigap policyholders are very satisfied with their Medigap coverage.  Medicare Supplement policies are designed to exchange the complex coinsurance and deductible requirements found under traditional Medicare with a predictable monthly premium.

  • Reliable, affordable and competitively priced Blue Cross Medicare Supplement plans.

Budget-Conscious Plans

High Deductible Plan F, Plan K and Plan N include cost-sharing features that allow you to save on premiums while still receiving dependable coverage.

  • High Deductible plan F features a $2,000 annual deductible before plan benefits begin (after the deductible the plan becomes a regular Plan F).
  • Plan N features an office visit and emergency room co-payment of $20 & $50 applicable to each visit.

If you are approaching the age of 65, you will need to request the Medicare Part B coverage.  Part A is automatic, although with Part B you will need to call a Social Security office near you (800-772-1213) and tell them you are approaching age 65 and would like to add the Part B coverage.  They will then send you the appropriate paperwork.  Try to start the paperwork 30 to 60 days prior to you needing the Part B coverage to start.
