How and when to apply
There are typically 2 ways to apply and enroll into a medicare supplement plan. The first is during an open-enrollment period. This allows you to enroll and be accepted regardless of your current or previous health status. During this type of enrollment you do not answer any health or prescription questions on the application. This is the easiest and quickest way to enroll.
The other way to enroll is not during and open-enrollment period. Anytime of the year. If you enroll outside of an open enrollment period, the enrollment is not guaranteed. The process is called “medical underwriting.”
This is where the applicant answers several medical questions, adds their prescription medications, and the company will review your current health status, and base their decision on your health. The decision is either to accept you or to decline. some companies ask many questions others not so many. In other words some companies are easier to enroll in then others when health status is being reviewed.

California Birthday Rule
This allows a current medicare supplement member to switch medicare supplement companies every year on the month of their birthday. You are able to switch to the same plan or one with less benefits. You cannot upgrade during the birthday rule. If you upgrade, you must answer the health questions in the application.
When seeing an Anthem in-network dentist you will enjoy a 25% to 40% savings right off the top, because of the contracted rates. These savings are also available during waiting periods, when you’ve gone over your yearly limit or when you’ve used up your benefits. Your dental costs will also be reduced even more with the plan insurance coverage.
